Waste
Water Reclamation Plant One | Solids Handling |
Introduction
The solids build up in the secondary treatment process
as a result of new cell growth. We try to maintain the
correct population of bacteria to clean the water in
the secondary process. The unneeded bacteria are removed
from the secondary treatment process. We call this wasting
sludge. The sludge is sent through a series of treatment
process that are designed to stablize the sludge. We
turn this sludge into a crop nutrient which is used
to grow corn.
