Waste Water Reclamation Plant Two | Barscreen

Pumping
The water flows from businesses and homes through an underground sewer system which brings all of the water to our raw well.Where the water is pumped up into the plant for processing, but during severe rain events, some of the flow is pumped to an excess flow treatment system where it is treated prior to discharge.

Screening

The first step in the process is screening all of the water. The water passes through a bar screen assembly. This allows the water and organics to pass through while rags, trash, and large objects are caught by the metal bars. When the bars start to plug because they have collected so much trash, a flot trips and tells us to clean the bar screen.

Sampling and Measuring
The influent is sampled automatically every 30 minutes and this is stored in a refrigerated container until it is taken to our laboratory for analysis. The water also flows through a flow measurement device so we know how many gallons of water we are processing. The influent flow also has a constant monitor for pH. This device tells us immediately if anything too acid or alkaline is coming into the plant. By knowing how many gallons come into the plant and what the concentration is of the pollutants, we can calculate the loading to the plant and we adjust the various plant process based on our loadings.
