Aerobic Digesters

Aerobic digestion is the next step in our stabilization of the sludge. We have large tanks where we add oxygen for mixing and to supply oxygen for the living organisms which we use to consume the thickened sludge. The solids spend about 30 days in these tanks and where we reduce the volume and destroy pathogenic bacteria which could be harmful.

Air is pumped to the bottom of the tanks where it is released evenly through the tank. The air mixes the water and provides oxygen for the living organisms.
