Water Reclamation Plant Three | Secondary Treatment |
Clarifiers
The microorganisms biologically convert the dissolved
solids in the wastewater to suspended solids which can
settle out in the clarifier. At this point 95% of the
solids and pollution have been removed when the water
leaves the final clarifiers. We can clean the water
in about 10 hours with this process.
We collect the bacteria used to clean the water in
the bottom of the clarifier and pump it back to the
aeration to consume more solids and destroy more disease.
These clarifiers are covered to prevent freezing in
the winter and to reduce odor in the area. |
