The new roundabout located at Cedar Round and Haven Avenue is set to open by the end of October. If you are unfamiliar with roundabouts and the rules for navigating a roundabout, please take a few moments to review the information below.
As you approach a roundabout, observe all standard road rules, slow down, and remember:
- Yield to all traffic in the roundabout.
- Yield to pedestrians and bicyclists in the crosswalk (at both entry and exit of the roundabout).
- Roundabout traffic travels one way.
To navigate the roundabout, follow these steps:
- Yield to all circulating traffic in the roundabout, and enter when there is a safe gap in traffic.
- Continue to your exit and do not stop within the roundabout (circulating traffic has the right of way).
- Yield to pedestrians and bicyclists in the crosswalk as you exit.
Should an emergency vehicle approach a roundabout, move to the right and do not enter the roundabout. If you are already in the roundabout, do not stop. Exit the roundabout, move to the right, and then stop so the emergency vehicle can safely pass.
