Pumpkin Smash takes place after Halloween, providing an environmentally friendly (not to mention fun!) way to dispose of your pumpkins. During this event, residents are invited to bring their pumpkins to the Village Commons for composting. By composting pumpkins instead of sending them to landfills, we not only reduce the amount of waste in landfills, but we also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the amount of water in landfills, where it has to be monitored to avoid groundwater contamination.
